New York Fashion Week 2019: Cocktail Dresses, Faux Fur, and Layers

NYFW: Last but Not Least for Looks 5-7
New York Fashion Week 2019 Looks 5, 6 & 7: The Classiest Looks with Dresses and LayersΒ
I canβt believe how quickly New York Fashion Week 2019 went by this year – I donβt even know where the time went! To be honest, I tried to take this Season a little bit slower. Rather than going to 6 shows a day, Iβd go to 3-4 that Iβd really, REALLY want to go to.
PLUSβ¦It didnβt help that I got terribly ill the last day of fashion week while watching Mean Girls on Broadway…and then ENTIRE week after with the worst fever and stomach flu. Seriously though, I was bedridden for two whole days. NOT by choice or the doctorβs ordersβ¦I physically could not move (thanks a lot Jay for sharing your virus cooties). Regardless, I still think this season was pretty successful and I am SUPER excited to share with you guys my last 3 looks!
So letβs get started!
New York Fashion Week 2019 Look 5: Flapper Style With A Modern TwistΒ
| Elie Tahari Beaded Dress | Elie Tahari Navy Blue Blazer | Bill Blass Payton Bootie | Brahmin Coral Bucket Bag | White and Gold Tassel Earrings | BCBGeneration Half-Framed Sunglasses | Green David Yurman Bracelet Cuff | Small Diamond David Yurman Bracelet Cuff | Geometric Bracelet | David Yurman Amethyst Ring | Turquoise Stone Cuff | Avon Lipstick |
I fell in love with this Elie Tahari dress the moment I laid eyes on it. I loved how its vintage style and professional shape gave it a polished, artisan look. When I tried it on in the Elie Tahari showroom, Iβd love spinning in it as the beads swayed around as show in my quick Instagram video HERE.
I wanted to continue with this vintage theme, but also wanted to make the look modern and powerful at the same time. So next, I paired the dress with an Elie Tahari navy blue blazer to give the dress some structure and some pointy Bill Blass Payton white booties for some edge. The blazer added a sharp business feel while the booties kept the colors cool and light, but fierce.
Next, I added a few accessories like this pair of white tassel earrings because I thought the fringe of the earrings tied in well with the beaded embellishments of the dress. Then, I layered a David Yurman cuff with a green stone, a small diamond David Yurman cuff, geometric bracelet, David Yurman amethyst ring, turquoise stone cuff, and gold and silver circle bracelet. These pieces helped accentuate the metals in the dress and seamlessly complemented the dark blazer for an overall classic, antique feeling of the look.
Finally, I added a pop of colorβ¦duh! I meanβ¦if you know me, you know I love a splash of color and a statement piece. SO, I paired this look with a gorgeous Brahmin Coral Bucket Bag and a pair of old school BCBGeneration half-framed sunglasses to really tie everything together.
New York Fashion Week 2019 Look 6: Layered Street Style
| MarstΓ© Cardigan | Black Button Up | Grey Gingham Sleeveless Top | Ray Bans | Jaguar Gold Hoops | ChloΓ© Python Bag | Com+ Sens White Sock Sneakers | Black Leather Belt | Red Wide Leg Pants | Turquoise Stone Ring |
I LOVE a layered look. Combining pieces together – whether stunning on their own, hard to match, or just plainβ¦ really feels like art to me. I love the challenge and the process of trying to put everything together to see if it could really work. And Iβm glad this one rightfully did!
For the base of this look, I paired a Grey Gingham Sleeveless Top with a pair of Red Wide Leg Pants. I then layered a Black Button-Up with a Gold Studded Collar and a Charcoal MarstΓ© Cardigan. I added a Black Leather Wrap Belt to cinch my waist and pull in the layers to prevent myself from looking too bulky. Then, I freshened up the look with a pair of clean White Com + Sens Sock Sneakers to add a sporty, street style vibe to the ensemble. I was so happy I could be comfortable yet trendy!
For accessories, I wore a simple pair of Gold Jaguar Hoops and a Turquoise Stone Ring to continue with the edgy style without making the look too busy.
Finally, I added my Chloe Python Crossbody and Ray Bans as final touches.
New York Fashion Week 2019 Look 7: Feminine Faux Fur
| Sugarhigh Pink Dress | Tara Jarmon Faux Fur Jacket | Sequin Evil Eye Drop Necklace | Furla Squirrel Pink Bag | Kay Jewelers Tanzanite Ring | Rose Gold Arrow Ring | Triangle Ear Jacket Earrings | Dune London Booties | Black Hat |
For my last look, I kept it simple and sexy. The perfect combo.
For this look all I did was pair a Sugarhigh Body-con Pink Dress with a Tara Jarmon Faux Fur Jacket and Dune London Booties. These pieces each look gorgeous on their own and pair together nicely to create a sexy, high-class look.
I wanted to add some classy and edgy pieces to the look so I wore a Sequin Evil-Eye Necklace, a classy, Kay Jewelers Tanzanite Ring, Rose Gold Arrow Ring, and Triangle Ear Jacket Earrings. Since all of these pieces were gold, the accessories made the look feel cohesive while still adding extra personality to the whole outfit.
For my last 2 pieces, I wore a black floppy hat and Furla Squirrel Pink Bag. These were the artsy, boho accessories that tied this look together and really showcased my signature edgy style.
Well guys, thatβs a wrap of this yearβs New York Fashion Week 2019 looks. I hope you enjoyed – Iβll see you next season!
Xoxo,
Kasey
