NYFW Day 7: The Final Day!
We have finally concluded NYFW with Look and Day #7! I’ll soon write a blog post that sums up all the outfits in one post so it’s easier to look up and shop. I hope you guys have enjoyed my NYFW series so far!
NYFW Look 7: Classic Shift Dress Mets Artsy Chic
NYFW Day 7 was a special one because I got to be dressed by the designer, Dan Liu. Picking one of his classic shift dresses, I chose this piece because I thought the print was quite unique. The designer picked a popular work-style dress and seemingly “splattered” white paint on the dress in a very artsy way while holding a heavier hand on the sides of the dress. (The dress is currently not for sale, but I found similar styles here, here, and here).
I knew I didn’t want to look typical with this dress, so I added some touches of color in an indigenous and artsy way to match the aesthetic of the dress. Firstly, I knew earrings would be super important, so I chose these absolutely gorgeous Rainbow Mosaic Drop Earrings by Sequin. I thought they would be great to incorporate many different colors in a tasteful way in addition to elongating the face.
The Details
Next up were the pieces of arm candy. I wanted to add an earthy vibe, so I incorporated elements of tribal patterns and stones into my bracelets. First, I picked up this beautiful crystal cuff by Loren Hope in Jet Iridescent (currently sold out, but you can shop the same style in different colors here, here, and here). To keep the cool tones of blue, I paired the cuff with this handmade leather wrap bracelet that was engraved in a tribal pattern. I got this when I was down at Clearwater Beach in Florida at the local markets, but you can find similar styles here and here. On the other wrist, I wore this tribal patterned bracelet that simulated real red and turquoise stones (find similar style here and here).
Now, onto the rings. To match the red and turquoise bracelet I just described, I wore the same colors in a single stone ring that I got from a local artisan in Tibet (you can buy similar styles here, here, and here). My second ring was also from Tibet and made from a turquoise stone (shop similar here, here, and here).
For shoes, I wore these classy suede Etienne Aigner sandals with a block heel. I really wanted to draw attention to the dress and accessories so I muted out the sandals with a nude color.
To keep with the “earthy” vibes, I sported this croc-embossed bucket bag by Saint Laurent. It’s sold out, but you can buy similar AND more affordable here, here, and here. And lastly, I wore these gorgeous cat eye sunglasses to make the look real artsy and chic (buy exact HERE and similar here and here).
Oh, and can’t forget these sick nails by Sundays Nail Studio! I’m obsessed with the fact that they can do amazing nail art and ALL with vegan polish :-).
And that’s it for all my NYFW looks! Stay tuned for the designer and 7-look recap!
Xoxo,
Kasey
