NYFW Day 2: Charlie Chaplin Trousers with an Off-The-Shoulder Crop Top

How I Strutted NYFW Day 2
NYFW Day 2 of 2018
NYFW Day 2 is here (or is it Day 1? The Events and Shows started on Wednesday, so it is 2 for me!) Boy, am I already exhausted from shooting a 6-look shoot in humid, 90-degree weather for TWO hours yesterday! My assistant and I even used a pop-up tent for the first time and it was SO hot inside there while I was changing. Literally, I was dripping sweat everywhere. So gross. BUT, I’m so glad we got all these shots done so we don’t have to worry about it for the rest of the week and I can actually enjoy the shows and events. Now, all I have to do is wait till I get all my photos back.
I’m actually super excited about this NYFW. It’s the first Season where I got to sit back and choose which shows I really wanted to attend and enjoy. It’s also the first time where I am getting paid to get shot in my outfits! Every Season, I spend a ton of money from NYFW because of all the Uber rides getting to and from the shows and from eating out all the time (although eating is more of a luxury during NYFW). I am so lucky to have landed these two campaigns with brands I can confidently support. (And I’m glad I can now pay some more of my monthly mortgage, haha – the struggle is real!)
NYFW Day 2 Look: Charlie Chaplin Trousers with an Off-The-Shoulder Crop Top
Anways, onwards to the look. This #OOTD is certainly an interesting one. I remember when I ordered these pants off of the Sugarhigh website, if I could really pull these off. I decided to order them and take a risk to see if I could play with it. Turns out, I could!
I knew these pants fared on the more conservative side so I wanted to show more skin on the top to balance the look out. I chose this gorgeous lace-up, off-the-shoulder crop top to contrast with my pants and it turned out so stinkin’ cute! I really love playing with opposites when it comes to fashion because although I like to push the limits sometimes, I also love balance. Playing with the conservativeness of the Charlie pants versus the more “showy” top demonstrated this concept.
To keep up the “workwear” look, I put on these GORGEOUS Bill Blass heels that are made out of a tie-like material. It really seems as if the material that was used to create the straps were made for fancy silk ties. I love the play on both masculinity and femininity.
For accessories, I just HAD to make this look more 90’s and wear these skinny pink sunglass frames. When I put these bad boys on, I felt like it really gave the look a real “oomph” in being more unique.
Lastly, I wore a Daniel Wellington watch paired with one of his matching cuffs in addition to other rose gold accented bracelets on the other wrist.

NYFW Events: Redken Hair Styling and Makeup Salon and Lexus Courtesy Transportation

Special thanks to Redken for hooking me up with some LOVE for my cutesy beach waves. I loved my hair so much today that I just had to ask my onsite photographer and friend, Ben of @tabletopography, to take some stellar shots (in 90 degree weather) of some behind-the-scenes moments at the event. I ate a ton of grilled cheese, tomato soup, and fries, and hung out with my friends all while getting dolled up. I had such a great time! Oh, and of course we had to take these amazing rooftop shots.
Also, thanks to Lexus for providing me and my team rides to and from the Shows!

says:I LOVE the pants! I instantly thought professional wear when I saw them, but I like how the crop top takes it from professional to a night out on the town. If I wasn’t so tall I would buy them!
