Styling Aria Jay x Daniel Wellington Black Classic Campaign

An exclusive look behind-the-scenes styling Aria Jay
Hey guys! The Stylewright is back and better than evahhh! After NYFW, I thought things would slow down a bit, but boy was I wrong. Meetings, parties, events, and styling sessions inundated my weekly calendar. In this post, I will highlight two events: 1) The Daniel Wellington Black Classic Watch Campaign and 2) Being a Stylist for singer-songwriter Aria Jay.
Daniel Wellington Black Classic Campaign
I had a great kickoff to fun-filled events by being part of the Daniel Wellington #BlackClassic campaign. Not only did they send me their newest watch, they also invited me to a photoshoot where only 8 other influencers were selected. The shoot was at the super cute Daniel Wellington Pop-Up shop in Soho. Everything was so professional: the photographer, the setup, and the rest of the DW team. At the end, they offered me “bubbles” (which I found out meant champagne in Swedish). And then the next evening, I met some amazing bloggers at their Classic Black Launch Party, and was gifted with yet another watch! Their new NATO strap is super cool and stylish- I don’t have to worry about the leather stretching out or breaking, so it is a great option.

Being a Stylist for Aria Jay
Then, Saturday came… BRRRING! BRRRING! I got a call from singer-songwriter, Aria Jay, asking me for my styling assistance.
Side note: As you all may know (or not), I also am a singer and pianist. In addition to being a lifestyle blogger almost 24/7, I dedicate many hours a week to singing. You can see a few of my non-professional performance videos HERE. My Tube is a little outdated with performances, but have at it, and keep the laughter at home. 😀
Aria Jay is the prime example of where I, along with many other singers, desire to be. She performs out, makes money from a passion she loves, and has major #swaggerstyle. So when she called me to amp up her style even more for her EP release party, I was so down! As much as I love playing Barbie with myself, I enjoy styling others as well. [Hit me up if you need a stylist for any of your upcoming events 🙂 ]
Fast forward to the styling session. The weekend began in the heart of this artist’s beautiful Brooklyn home. Her apartment was decorated with homeyness, eccentric artsy items, and touches of wood. I literally walked up the stairs, through the door, and immediately wanted to steal all of her decorations. #homeinspo #designgoals
After a quick tour, we got straight to work. I rummaged through her closet and picked out some awesome pieces that I thought would go with the vibe she wanted. She said that for her big night, she wanted to look bold by creating a statement, but still manage to give off her girly-vibe. I kept that in mind while I was sifting through each item that hung in her closet. I was happy to find she already had a bunch of unique and stylish items – I had a lot to choose from.
Like this quirky Dadda shirt.
And this awesome red Bomber. (I decided to go with this one.)
And this #badass pin.
I laid out a bunch of options and had Aria try them all on. I would say that the most challenging part was seeing how each piece fit on her body and paired with the other aspects of the outfit. Sometimes I would think a top would add amazing color to the look, but the fit of the shirt was too big or the length was too long. Nonetheless, we finally found a rockstar outfit!
What what. Obviously, we had to have a photoshoot so I could brag about the outfit I chose for her.
And the fact that our sunglasses are matching in exact opposite ways.
And in case you’re all wondering, here are my outfit deets:
ALSO, Be sure to download this awesome girl’s new EP. It is now available on Spotify, iTunes, and Tidal. Her voice is absolutely amazing and it sounds like honey. She’s an artist you don’t want to miss.
