#NYFW Adventures With John Brevard, Carrie Hammer, and Saks Fifth Avenue

Wow, talk about being pooped! I am all “event-ed” out and partied out from last week’s NYFW events. I went to some really great shows and previews, and I want to share a few of the experiences with you tonight.

Pictured above:

Skirt: Forever 21 (find similar A-like skirts here)

Shoes: Christian Louboutin Argotik Patent Red Sole Pump, Black

Bag: Chanel (buy new or amazing vintage ones at a Second Chance Designer Resale)

John Brevard’s Preview of their Flagship Store

First, I was invited to go to John Brevard’s preview of their flagship store. I was astounded by the artistry, craftsmanship and power of the designs.

With a multitude of experiences in architecture and furniture design, John has produced such a beautiful and eccentric jewelry line. My favorites from the night have to be the rings. I swear when I put them on, I felt entirely empowered…and as I quote myself, “basically #badass.”

I mean, look at these! Exquisite – I have never seen rings like these before. The rings are quite pricey and can range up to thousands and thousands of dollars especially when adding on diamonds and gold, but I can totally see why with all that craftsmanship and precious precious diamonds. Be sure to check out the collection here.

Carrie Hammer’s Fashion Show at Mercedes Benz

Just wow. This woman is all over the Internet. Listed in Forbes’ 30 Under 30, I had to go to this show. Carrie Hammer’s line focuses on creating professional workwear for the career-oriented, powerful woman. Her strongest slogan is #ROLEmodelsNOTRunwaymodels. I had the lovely change to interview her at NYU when I went to college, and man, has she and the brand grown so quickly!

A lot of important ladies were taking the runway that afternoon. To name a few from the above, we had Teri Whitcraft, Senior Producer of ABC News; Gwen Greene, VP of J.P. Morgan; Chanel Cathey, Director of Corporate Communications from Viacom; Kaitlyn Cawley, Editor-in-Chief at EliteDaily; June Cohen of Ted; and Melissa Miranda of Pepsico.

How sick is this? Mercedes-Benz put Carrie’s name all over their cars! Look at the rest of her career-savy designs here.

The next evening, I went to attend two NYFW parties, Carrie Hammer’s after party and Deux Homme’s Issue 3 Launch Party. They were such a blast and I met so many important people.

And of course, with all that fashion inspiration, I had to go for a new look, so I cut my hair…

…And then bought myself a Chloe Drew bag in Python…

And this is how fashionistas go broke! The end.
