Goodbye Blog, Hello Vlog!

But kind of, really.

img_7514

I have made the decision to finally pivot my business “baby” and sweep up the momentum from this media age. I am slowing down the writing portion for my blog, and upping the talking portion for my vlog (Ooo, look at that rhyming). I want to concentrate more on connecting with the audience with my Youtube channel. I want to engage, I want to speak to them, and I want to make them laugh. Below you can find the pivotal steps I have gone through thus far in getting to this very Oscar-worthy realization.

The Rest of the Crazy # NYFW

cray, cray, crayzee times.

NYFW Day 3 Outfit

Skirt – T By Alexander Wang; Top: Express; Bag: Chanel Vintage; Choker: Free People; Shoes: (BCBG Maxazria). Photographed by: TheCelebrd

In this post, I will be talking about the rest of my NYFW Fall 2016. To shop some of each designer’s pieces and outfits, refer to the end of the post to see similar and shop-able styles.

This NYFW season has blown me away with the designs offered on the runway. The next impressive show was none other than the incredible Tadashi Shoji. I was so excited when I got to Skylight that I had to create a snapchat intro to remember this moment:

And boy, was I right in the level of excitement. The two big screens on the walls opened with some crazy, trippy video of an Asian-styled video of animals linking appendages to one another with their snouts or tails. Here is the example of the elephant:

I remember thinking to myself, “What the hell?” But then I was like, it’s Fashion Week, whatever. Sometimes designers like to mess with the human mind and question their taste in fashion. So, this wasn’t so bad.

Then, the designs came flowing down the runway. This was by far the most beautiful set of designs I have seen this entire NYFW. Tadashi gets a 10 for design, 10 for elegance, and 10 for wearability. The pieces were absolutely stunning.

Monday Inspiration – Think BIG.

Samsung 837

Remember to always think of the bigger picture in order to help you get through the smaller tasks.

This weekend, I was having so much difficulty getting around to editing my second vlog (ever) on the Museum of Ice Cream. It seems like on Saturday, I did everything BUT my work. I cleaned, I ate lots of food, and went shopping for useless things. By the end of the night, I felt like I wasted so much potentially valuable time.

9 Morning Routines of the Most Successful People

IMG_5659

How you choose to wake up in the morning is how you choose to set the tone  for the rest of the day. If you wake up late and rush your way out the door, chances are you will be quite irritable. On the flip side, if you spend time enjoying your mornings, you will feel more relaxed and ready to conquer your day.

Monday Inspiration – What Matters To You?

What matters to me is my pen and paper, and being able to write motivational words to my readers. That is what keeps me going.
Today, write your goals down. Write down what you want to accomplish. What do you want to get done today?

Eat the frog and tackle the biggest task first. You’ll be surprised at how productive you become once you turn your ideas into reality. It can all start with one pen and one piece of paper. Ask yourself, “What would make you better than yesterday?” Then, step by step, go achieve.

Xoxo,

Kasey

When The Going Gets Tough, Get Stronger

IMG_5351IMG_5352

You wake up in the morning. Your eyes reluctantly open as sun-rays reach through the blinds. You plant your feet down to stand. Your legs feel like they’re dragging on the floor as you make your way to the bathroom. You flick on the lights and look at yourself in the mirror. You tell yourself, “God, this is horrible. I hate waking up so early.” You’re not happy with what you see or how you feel.

Monday Inspiration

Today, look around you and smile.

Too often we get caught up in the little things in life and immerse ourselves in what we only think matters. Once in awhile make sure to sit back, take a breath, and appreciate how beautiful the world can be. 🙌🏼

You owe it to yourself to accept the gift of beauty around you. Leave your stresses behind for a second and look at the pretty flowers and animals in the park you pass by every morning. If time allows, do yourself a favor and walk inside. Life’s too short to rid yourself  of what the world has to offer.

Stella McCartney Died!

Stella

Stella McCartney Foldover Triple-Chain Tote in Gray next to Christian Louboutin Patent Leather Pumps. Disclosure: all pictures taken AFTER the mess!

Well, at least I thought mine did. And no, not talking about the actual person – thank God, and sorry if I gave you a scare. I’m talking about my actual bag. She was the second love of my designer bag life after my first Louis Vuitton Alma PM (which I had bought secondhand – I’m also selling this on Poshmark and you can buy new HERE).  I have dreamed about her for years – my Stella was my first new designer bag that I had purchased with my own hard-earned money. I remember I would ask a salesperson at every luxury department store to show me where the Stella McCartney bags were, just so I could stand there fawning over them. When my Stella Falabella triple-chain bag was finally in my possession, I was overcome with both excitement and gratitude.

NYFW Part 2: The Grand Finale

The Art Institutes, Eva Michelle, OBDEC…this was the trio that concluded February New York Fashion Week.

With a full-time desk job that wouldn’t free me till 7pm, attending shows had been extremely exhausting. I would come home past 11pm, eat dinner that consisted of some sort of fried food like chicken fingers and burgers, and wake up at 6am with a tummy ache full of indigestion. With four to five cups of coffee, I powered through my day job for 11 hours, then Uber’d my way to more shows. Rinse, cycle, repeat. You may think being a fashion blogger is solely glamorous based on the moments we capture; however, with all that glamour comes the sacrifice of sleep, health, and time.

Thank God for the above-average makeup skills that shielded my zombie face from the flashes of the cameras. Eyeliner, mascara, and powdered brows were the only things that were propping my eyelids open. And thanks to HD makeup and my Beauty Blender sponge, I could cover all my blemishes and veiny skin that were a result of dehydration and lack of sleep.
