Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Dress #1 Try-On

This amazing dress by Tahari is their “Sleeveless Choker Neck Crepe Shift Dress”. This dress comes in both Regular and Petite so it can flatter quite a lot of body shapes and sizes. It’s a shift dress, so it’s not meant to hug the body, but rather sit well on the shoulders with a tapered slight flare around the waist and then towards the hips. At 5”3, I ordered size 2 in Petite and the dress fit perfectly. I was so happy with the fit.
When I saw this in the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale section, the Bottle Green color immediately caught my attention as I am currently lacking color in my wardrobe (I usually shop color for accented pieces like handbags and jewelry). I thought this green was the perfect color to buy now because it’s great to match the colorful Summer season and the dark green can transition nicely into the Fall. With this color, I knew I could wear this dress for awhile since it’s a great transitional piece.
The Neck Tie
And can we talk about the cutest neck tie? There’s a front and back piece that goes through a gold grommet loop on the right shoulder. It’s almost as if you already accessorized the dress with a choker necklace, but this one is seamless and classier. I’m obsessed with the touch of femininity and sultriness of the neck tie.
Now, my style is more edgy with a feminine touch, but I wanted to challenge myself the other way with a girly dress and accessorize with edgy details. Of course, I had to choose some chunky bracelets like a python cuff (shop similar HERE), a geometric-square cuff (similar $5 one HERE and HERE), and one with mixed metals such as gold and silver (similar style HERE)I love investing in bold cuffs and bracelets because it’s super easy to throw them on your wrists and make a loud statement with a simple look.

I wore these sick circle drop earrings by Brook and York that have a gold bar that goes straight down the middle. I love the circle earrings because they add curves to an otherwise block-shaped dress. And for sunglasses, I wore these classic Aviators by Quay Australia and Desi Perkins.
I also sported my favorite backpack of all time by Zac by Zac Posen. I get compliments on this bag every single time I wear it out. It has a beautiful black matte leather finish that is structured to look sleek. It is both stylish AND convenient – I am able to fit my Sony Camera, sunglasses, wallet and other beauty products inside it.
Last, but not least, I paired together these beautiful Bill Blass Mules with the dress. The shoes are made from Jacquard and almost have a masculine feel with a silk scarf-y look, but also a feminine finish with the bow on top. Even though the shoes are pointy, they were extremely comfortable to walk around in for hours. They are a must-have in their multiple colors – I have them in both Denim/Dark Wash and Black/Multi!
