Fireworks and Fringe
Every year, I spend my Independence Day surrounding myself with family, lots of chicken wings, and beer. This year, the food and beverage stayed the same, but I spent the day with my friends whom I’ve grown up with since middle school. It was a nice change of scenery going back to the ‘burbs, reminiscing on my childhood days of greenery, paved driveways and the sound of giddy kids running after the ice cream truck.
I usually strut in heels wherever I go, but the journey was too treacherous from Manhattan, so I sported a casual pair of sandals with a classic pair of old-fashioned ripped-on-the-edge white jean shorts and a newly bought fringe crop top (almost crop top?). Then, of course, I couldn’t forget my lovely Chanel WOC.
This weekend, I had a blast. What a cheesy smile ^^. My friends say they love me best in pictures when they are candid and when I am caught in the middle of laughing. They say I have smiley eyes, but I say I look like a hyena! We ended the night with watching the town fireworks over our childhood middle school baseball field, and with that happy note, I made my way back to my NYC home.
